About Us

Commons & Commons LLP was started in 1973 by Harold T. Commons, Jr., who was later joined in the practice by his wife, Carolyn (“Kitty”) D. Commons. Although the practice has passed on to new generations of lawyers, Hal and Kitty’s care for their clients, attention to detail, and commitment to community continue to guide the work we do.

Lawyers at Commons & Commons LLP practice in the areas of Trust and Estate planning and administration (including representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries), labor and employment, education, executive compensation, non-profit organizations, real estate, and business entities. A more detailed list of our areas of practice is above under “For Organizations” and “For Families and Individuals.”

In April of 2024, we moved to our new offices at 30 Pelham Road in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia, where we have been able to expand while continuing to work for the communities in and around Philadelphia that the firm has served for over 50 years.
